I should have been more clear, but I wrote my first message late at night and in a hurry. Sorry.
The tap into the turn signal is for the light switch, which controls the relay. The switch has an indicator light. I guess the power is for that indicator light.
"Common lead"? "High side"? I assume the two wires into the turn signal are for steady power and flashing power, but which is which?
I think I have a voltmeter. That would do the trick, wouldn't it.
The driving lights take their power directly from the battery terminal. My dealer okayed the lights (they're 50 amps each), with the proviso that I switch them off before starting the bike so there will be enough power to turn over the engine.
The lights are made for cars, not motorcycles. Mounting them was an adventure. I mounted them on the forks, just below the triple tree, using sportbike steering damper clamps to secure an aluminum U-channel across the forks. The lights hang from the U-channel. I added a flat bar across the top of the U-channel to give it a cleaner look.
